About Me

I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma but I have resided in Stillwater, Oklahoma for the last 9 years. In 2003 I received my Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Oklahoma State University and in 2005 I received my Master's degree in the same field with a special emphasis on Criminology and Deviance. I married my wife Angela in 2001 and we have two children, Alyssa and Jacob.

I have had a great deal of interest in photography for many years, but it wasn't until I received my first DSLR from my brother Greg in 2005 that my interest was piqued. Growing up in Tulsa, I have had a high degree of interest in severe weather since I was a little boy. I have been an avid mobile weather observer ("storm chaser" although I dislike the term) for 15 or so years. I have been good at it for about 4 years now. It wasn't until I took an active interest in educating myself on forecasting and severe weather mechanics that I became much more successful in intercepting "the good stuff". I know I still have a lot to learn and my self-education in meteorology and photography will never end.

I also enjoy taking pictures of the OSU campus. I have always said that anybody can grab a camera on a nice sunny Oklahoma afternoon and go take some nice photos on campus. My specialty is taking campus photos when the weather isn't as nice. Snow, ice, and thunderstorms make a much more interesting backdrop to our beautiful buildings than blue skies with some puffy white clouds. Therefore, when most people are running for shelter, I'm running to grab my camera and head out onto the campus for a photo-op.

I hope you enjoy some of my work and keep in mind that all print sales will go directly towards upgrading my aging equipment so I can continue to improve the quality and quantity of my portfolio. Thank you for visiting!!!!
